Trascorrerà due mesi a Salina l’artista siciliana Rosangela Longo, la quale dopo aver realizzato il murales “Oi Nostoi” sulla terrazza di amaneï (visibile ancora oggi), svilupperà un progetto di “mappatura” delle Isole Eolie. Chi meglio delle parole dell’artista può spiegare tale lavoro?

“Nessun ritorno è un ritorno senza una mappa, una carta che indica la rotta, la strada verso casa. Perché chi passa da qui possa portarsi via il ritratto delle isole tracciato con lo stesso azzurro del mare, che le circonda, con il verde dei monti che ci lasciano riprendere fiato, il rosso della lava che ribolle dall’interno e rende meno scontato il cammino, come il navigante porta con sé il ritratto dell’amata. Per sentirne la nostalgia una volta andato via, perché abbia voglia di tornare. Così nascono le mappe delle isole, e dell’isola tra le isole “la Sicilia”. Siamo carne e geografia.” (R. Longo)

The Sicilian artist Rosangela Longo will spend two months in Salina. After creating the mural Oi Nostoi on the amaneï terrace (still visible today), she will develop a project mapping the Aeolian Islands. Who better than the artist herself to explain this work?
