Durante la sua residenza artistica, Chloé Bellemère ha esplorato la relazione tra uomo e paesaggio, ispirata dai vulcani e dal paesaggio eroso dal tempo. Si interrogò sul mistero delle profondità, sugli eventi passati e sull'impatto che hanno sul presente.

Per due settimane ha collaborato con l'artista Inga Galinyte per sviluppare il progetto "Memory Islands", iniziato a Parigi nel 2021. Insieme hanno raccolto ricordi dagli abitanti di Salina e hanno dialogato con scienziati e storici locali per scoprire leggende e storie legate ai vulcani, trasformandole in dipinti poetici in movimento che riflettono una memoria collettiva.

Nell'ultima settimana della residenza, ha invitato la coreografa Glysleïn Lefever a esplorare il rapporto tra uomo e terra, osservando i paesaggi bianchi delle cave di pomice a Lipari e traendo ispirazione dalle fotografie di Cecilia Mangini e dal documentario "Magia Lucana" di Luigi Di Gianni.

During her artistic residency, Chloé Bellemère explored the relationship between humans and the landscape, inspired by volcanoes and the terrain eroded by time. She questioned the mystery of depths, past events, and their impact on the present.

For two weeks, she collaborated with artist Inga Galinyte to develop the project Memory Islands, which began in Paris in 2021. Together, they collected memories from Salina’s inhabitants and engaged in conversations with local scientists and historians to uncover legends and stories connected to the volcanoes, transforming them into poetic moving paintings that reflect a collective memory.

In the final week of the residency, she invited choreographer Glysleïn Lefever to explore the relationship between humans and the earth, observing the white landscapes of the pumice quarries in Lipari and drawing inspiration from Cecilia Mangini’s photographs and Luigi Di Gianni’s documentary Magia Lucana.
